Inner Vessel is a sculptural installation composed of five hand-built forms, each made from two joined parts: one in terracotta, the other in white No.37 clay. These dual-toned vessels rotate slowly, each at its own rhythm, size, and intensity of inner light.
The work explores the dynamic relationship between opposites: stillness and movement, concealment and revelation, dark and light. The seam where the two clays meet becomes a site of tension and unity, suggesting that contrasting elements can coexist in balance.
As the vessels turn, they cast evolving shadows and reveal quiet pulses of light from within. Some glow steadily, while others flicker and fade. The variations in speed, scale, and illumination invite viewers to experience time as layered and shifting.
Each vessel stands as an individual presence, yet together they form a constellation of forms. Their subtle differences reflect the diverse ways inner strength, fragility, and transformation manifest in the human experience.
Through material, motion, and light, Inner Vessel reflects on the architecture of the self. It speaks to what we hold within, how we carry it, and how it changes with time and attention.
