Moj Habibi designed and built Two Macadamias, a public art installation in Medowie, working with local businesses to create it from cement. The artwork is inspired by the Macadamia nut tree, a native Australian species that existed long before colonisation and remains an important part of NSW’s agriculture. By referencing this pre-colonial food source, Habibi highlights the importance of sustainability, Indigenous knowledge, and the deep connection between people and the land. The installation encourages viewers to reflect on the lasting presence of Macadamia trees, human impact on nature, and the need for a balanced relationship with the environment.
